U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

Tara became the New England (NELMSC) Awards & Recognition Chair in 2017 and diligently collected information and insights on how to best revamp this special category. Recognition is often overlooked yet can provide a lasting foundation of support, appreciation, and growth in any organization. Her recognition award winners became possible candidates for USMS awards. Tara also created a “Smiling Sticker” award to use to ‘shout out’ contributions that may not be at the caliber of an LMSC award. The awards recognition event became a social gathering at a restaurant and it was very successful. Names were then included in the NELMSC newsletters and social media quarterly.  She also created online forms for the nomination process. In 2024 she joined the USMS Recognition and Awards Committee and shared her forms. Tara also was a swim coach for many years.
