U.S. Masters Swimming Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award

A USMS task force was created to look at the organization’s diversity and inclusion policies and practices and Sarah was appointed as its leader. Two years later, the task force was approved as a standing committee with Sarah as its leader who helped define the committee’s mission and goals. The committee not only promoted diversity and inclusion ideals but educated coaches and local leaders on how foster those ideals on the pool deck and in the board room. After five years as chair, Sarah stepped down as chair, she also decided to remain an active member on the committee due to her commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
