U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

A life-long swimmer, Jenny became involved with USMS in the late 1990’s in Sioux Falls, SD. She connected with other adults for shared workouts. Upon moving to Pierre in 2007, she organized a workout group of swimmers at the Oahe YMCA. She taught adult swim lessons and held lap swimming clinics, which led to the founding of a Masters group. For the next several years she was involved in the hosting of several dual-sanctioned meets. In 2012 Jenny co-directed the first South Dakota Masters State Swim Meet, in advance of the Summer Nationals being held in Omaha, NE. The State Meet became an annual event and she served as the meet director for most of the subsequent editions. A passionate open water swimmer, Jenny spearheaded the first sanctioned open water swim in Lake Oahe in 2014. Finally, in 2015, Jenny was the first delegate from the South Dakota LMSC to attend the National Convention (at least for many years).
