Mary had served as the USMS Fitness Education Committee chair since 2014. Under her leadership, the Fitness Education Committee worked with the National Office to design and test the fitness circuit and to develop the Smarty Pants Fitness Series, benefiting the Swimming Saves Lives Foundation. She worked with the Coaches Committee to develop a training program for the Fitness Education Committee. Mary has been featured on USMS Peer to Peer conference calls focusing on promoting fitness. She also served as Treasurer on the South Texas LMSC board for five years and actively participates in LMSC governance.
