U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

Christina served on the Oregon LMSC Board of Directors in the capacity of Membership Services Chair for nine years. In this role, she contacted workout group and club representatives, updated information for the website, and responded to questions from newly forming teams. She worked to increase the LMSC membership by making sure USMS marketing materials are sent to anyone inquiring about Masters Swimming. She provided the OMS workout groups and club representatives with these materials to encourage promoting Masters swimming at local pools. During open water swim events, at which Oregon Masters allows one event registrations, Christina encouraged one event swimmers to convert to full USMS memberships. She contributed to board discussions and recommended how leadership could better recruit and serve membership. Christina also served as meet director for some of Oregon’s largest championship meets and volunteered at the Solutions table for the entire 2016 Oregon Summer Nationals. More recently she become active at the national level by attending USMS Conventions and serving as a contributing member of the USMS Rules Committee. She is quick to offer a kind word at meets and encourages her teammates on deck.
