Cheryl was active in USMS for over 20 years and in her LMSC for nearly that long. Shortly after joining, she developed a web based communications program for her club, Terrapin Masters, despite no background in programming. Her volunteerism soon extended to the Potomac Valley LMSC where she served as secretary for nearly two decades. As newsletter editor, she captured important activities of local swimmers and entertained the LMSC with her trademark, “Swim Humor” column. Cheryl also spearheaded the 7.5-mile Potomac River Swim in 2002 and helped it grow substantially. She is a reservoir of historical information and always greets and welcomes new swimmers to Masters Swimming.
