Joe accepted a call for someone to volunteer for the Central LMSC Top Ten Chair in 1995. Realizing the records needed some updating, he wrote his own software program to reassemble the LMSC State Records, recording complete information on all swims.  He has served on the Board of Directors for Central/Illinois LMSC for 12 years, and participated on the Records and Competition committee. His proudest contribution to masters swimming was pushing the suggestion to get extended warmup time at Nationals the evening before the first day of events.
